Before you begin, brainstorm ocean creatures for a game of charades, write them down, and put the slips of paper in a bowl. Here are some ideas to get you started: octopus, eel, whale, shark, jellyfish, dolphin, coral.
Play the game of charades, helping younger children as needed. When the game is finished, say: Wow! You were all so good at acting like you were a creature from the ocean! Did you know that God’s Book, the Bible, tells us exactly who our Savior is? We don’t have to guess—we know it’s Jesus! The Bible tells us again and again that Jesus loves us. We don’t have to guess about what he’s done for us. God’s Word tells us that Jesus came to save us from our sins and give us eternal life!
Close your time together with this prayer: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for giving us your Word. Guide us as we carry your Word in our hearts—every day! Help us to continue to learn and study your Word, so that we can know more about our Savior, Jesus, and your great love for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
