Holy Night - Wherever God Is Holiness Abounds

By A. Trevor Sutton

Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!

Revelation 4:8

Wholly. Holey. Holy.

Only one of these words, the last of the three, means set apart. If something is holy, then it is sacred, separate, and set apart.

Wherever God is, holiness abounds. The birth of Jesus was holy because God was setting that night, that place, that manger apart for something new and wonderful.

That holy night, however, was not confined to the little town of Bethlehem. Wherever the good news of Jesus is, holiness, as well as hope abounds.

Are you wholly overwhelmed right now? Is your hope holey and your soul sapped? Remember: Wherever God is, holiness abounds. Not only in a manger but also in the midst of the messiness of life, God is with you.
